Basils 'Tastes of The Haughmond'

We are pleased to announce that we are open from Tuesday 28th July 2020

Let us lead you on a journey through the tastes of the seasons with a series of six surprising courses.

Using quality ingredients and focusing on local produce, this menu develops across the evening leaving you satisfied and with memories of the finest food available in Shropshire.

Designed for the enjoyment of all guests at the table. The 'Tastes of The Haughmond' menu is served from 18:00 until 20:00 on Tuesday to Saturday evenings. Please allow 3 hours for the enjoyment of this menu.

Special dietary requirements can be tailored to meet your request.  However, please note that due to our style of cooking our menu is not suitable for a dairy free diet.

Tasting Menu

6 courses £55 per head

accompanying 5 wine flight optional (£30)

Tomato

Confit cherry tomato, olive macaroon, basil

Mackerel

Torched mackerel, fennel, apple, coriander

Halibut

Pan fried halibut, cep tortillini, celeriac, lemon preserve, baby gem

Lamb

Lamb rump, roast garlic potato, artichoke, kale, salsa verde

Peach

Honey glazed peach, pecan, yoghurt, lemon verbena

Blackberry

Blackerries, hibiscus panna cotta, salsify, marrigold

Cheese

selection of local cheeses, crackers, trimmings (optional extra £10)


Vegetarian Tasting Manu

Tomato

Confit cherry tomato, olive macaroon, basil

Crumpet

Homemade crumpet, confit yolk, red onion marmalade, chive

Ravioli

mushroom ravioli, spinach, parsley, truffle

Pithivier

Butternut squash pithivier, artichoke, goats curd, onion jus

Apricot

Honey glazed apricot, pecan, yoghurt, lemon verbena

Fig

Sticky fig pudding, glazed fig, balsamic, clotted cream

Cheese

selection of local cheeses, crackers, trimmings (optional extra £10)
